English & Culture Workshop

Every month, we meet our local elders at the tourism center located in the heart of Takatori-cho. While the focus is English conversation, we’re really there to have fun and introduce the elders to something interesting. This month, we made a Matisse-inspired poster!

We practiced vocabulary such as “abstract” and “organic”! It was a little challenging, but our students were motivated! The best part was the blind contour practice! Everyone had to look at the plants and draw them, without looking in a single line. Everyone had such unique shapes, despite looking at the same plant. How fun!
